What goes in curating a material research collection two years in advance?
For this collection, an intensive and hands-on research is conducted of the upcoming trends from various sources such as material science and development labs, global trade fairs, and news on developments in other fields which can be influencing factors to the world of Textiles. Fiber and fabric construction studies are conducted for structurally feasible fabrics, before starting experiments on looms. The research is curated and presented as a narrative with socially relevant themes for the upcoming times.



The tale of this season is about deriving the expressions from the different stages and forms of the human psyche. Essences of these stages of the state of mind, and what drives them, are taken as inspiration.

Psychedelic
The derivation of this story is as simple as the name suggests. Concepts are drawn from elements and experiences resembling to psychedelia.

The Alleviate stories

Textile composition: Alleviate is a mid-range casual-wear collection of textured yarns such as slubs and neps, classic summer brights, and pleasant large busy plaids. Spring Summer 2018 leans towards softer fiber-feels such as modal and other plant blends with cotton.


Memorate
Nostalgia and flashbacks are the expressions that drive this story. Open the time capsule and let all the memories in, of the wooden toys, colourful candies, old family homes, mother’s jewelry, father’s suitcases, grandpa’s vintage home, grandma’s vintage ceramics.

The Memorate stories

Textile composition: Memorate is a collection inspired by India's heritage. It brings forth the texture-rich qualities of linen, cotton, slubs and melange yarns. The collection is bold in its yarn and weave play, not afraid to experiment, in order to do justice to the Indian crafts and their visually and texturally rich aesthetics. Memorate is also an attempt to blur the gender lines in Indian menswear clothing by introducing more traditional aesthetics in shirting fabrics.
