Core Studio 1: 3D offers students an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of 3D media: materials, form, space, and installation. The class allows for a distinct focus on basic techniques and methodologies around woodwork, metalwork, ceramics, and casting. Students are encouraged to address projects through a range of artistic realization: from concept and material sourcing to fabrication and critique to develop a personal voice. Coursework is supplemented with integrated readings to understand the history of 3D media.
