Just as Light has the dual nature of being a wave and a particle, this woven textile collection Light here is inspired from multiple perspectives of Light: White, Bright, and Night Light.

The collection light presented at Donear Industries Limited

White

White is inspired from the purest form of light- white light. It translates the concepts of the effects of light reflection, penetration, obstruction, transparency, and shadow to woven dobby fabrics.

The collection White is a compilation of assorted designs of dobby, satin/sateen, extra weft and warp, plain and combinations of matt, and oxford.
    Yarns: 60s Cotton, 60s Modal, 30s Cotton
    Constructions: 180x130 dobby; 180x120 dobby; 136x96 plain, extra weft/warp, oxford; 176x92 plain + satin; 152x108 plain + matt; 212x116 satin/sateen; 160x110 herringbone; 200x110 plain + satin; 164x116 plain + matt; 196x126 double cloth; 134x108 twill
The White story disintegrates into further concepts of Reflection, Rays, Surface play, and Obstruction-penetration.

Reflection: The effect of light being reflected from various surfaces is taken as inspiration and executed by using cotton in warp and modal in weft with heavy dobby to bring out the reflection of the dobby designs due to modal’s luster which appears as lights dancing off off the surface of the fabric.

Rays: Interpreting Light Rays as lines, the concept of rays is developed on wovens with dent variations, stitched lines and broken line effects.

Obstruction and Penetration: Taking inspiration from the behavior of light passing through cracks, the concept is translated into fabrics by using varying yarn counts for denser and lighter surfaces, and missed and dense dents for the same.

Surface Play: The dance of light on any interesting surface creating patterns and textures is the inspiration behind this sub-story. Various combinations of plain, matt, twill, satin, etc. are used to play with the fabric surface.

Bright

The untouched and undisturbed play of light in the natural surroundings like between the trees and clouds and in the ocean, is the inspiration behind the Bright collection.

The collection Bright is interpreted from different perspectives for different fabric qualities like space-dyed look, double cloth, cut-yarn, crape, and stretch fabrics . Each of these stories looks at the natural bright light from a different view and thus forms a collection.
Yarns: 50s, 60s, cotton, high twist, space dyed and lycra yarns
Constructions: 120x80, 132x88 Spacedyed story (plain, twill respectively); 120x80 Cut-yarn story; 132x96 Stretch fabrics story; 140x104 Crape Story; 160x112 Double Cloth Story

Night

Night is developed as a Jacquard collection with a common warp of Night Navy color with the dancing and blinking in contrast colors such as bright pink, sea green, blue, white, and yellow. depicting the twinkling lights over the dark canvas of a night.

The emphasis of this collection is given to the structure of the Jacquard fabric. Leaving behind the traditional Jacquard weaves and look, and introducing a new concept, this collection consists of satin sateen combination on Jacquad to form the motifs with Navy in warp and other colors as weft, giving a reversible effect to the fabric and a very definite print-like motifs on the fabric.
